MJ student honored as high school media advisor

Master of Journalism student Susan Houseman, journalism teacher and adviser of newspaper and television at Conestoga High School in Berwyn, Pa., was one of four teachers cited by the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund for “Special Recognition” as a journalism adviser Nov. 14. Obituary: Pete Shellem, JOUR ‘83, ’saved lives’

Pete Shellem, JOUR '83, who wrote for The Patriot-News in Harrisburg for 23 years, passed away Oct. 25. Shellem's investigative reporting skills led to the exoneration of four people serving life sentences for murder since 1998. Sarah Jaffe, JOUR ‘09, joins GRITtv

Sarah Jaffe, JOUR '09, has been hired as GRITtv's senior writer/web manager. She will be responsible for running the web site and social media. Launched in May 2008, GRITtv with Laura Flanders is a news and arts discussion show available in multiple formats with interactivity and a positive take on what's going on.
