MM&C student Dianne Garyantes successfully defends her dissertation

Congratulations to Mass Media & Communication (MM&C) student Dianne Garyantes, who successfully defended her doctoral dissertation Aug. 13. The title of her dissertation is "Toward a New Norm of Understanding: A Culturally Competent Approach to Journalism." The members of her dissertation examination committee were Nancy Morris (Chair), Fabienne Darling-Wolf, Andrew Mendelson and Elfriede Fursich (Boston College; outside reader).
