Temple Repertory Theater will feature a group of professional actors rotating in roles in both Three Sisters and Measure For Measure. Each is currently enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Acting program at Temple University, a two-year program specifically designed for mid-career actors interested in pursuing an advanced degree.
The current roster of actors have extensive national and regional credits, and includes:
Obie Award winner Yvette Ganier (Off-Broadway’s Breath Room) who was recently seen on Broadway in the star-studded revival of The Miracle Worker, and also of Broadway’s King Hedley II. She has been featured in roles at Playwrights Horizon, Royal National Theatre (London), and the Steppenwolf in Chicago, among others.
Gregg Almquist, actor of stage and screen, whose credits include Broadway’s I’m Not Rappaport and Richard III (Lincoln Center), extensive regional theater work, the films of Woody Allen, Mike Nichols, and roles on Law & Order and The Practice, and more.
Nancy Boykin has worked as an actress in the professional theatre for more than twenty years, and was most recently seen in the Arden’s Superior Donuts. She won the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle as Best Actress for her portrayal of ‘Juno’ in Juno and the Paycock. In Philadelphia, Ms. Boykin has worked at the Wilma, the Arden, Interact and Act II Playhouse.
Rebecca Rich, New York City based actor, whose credits include a national tour of Guys and Dolls, Off-Broadway’s The Naughty Knight, Zombie Prom (original cast recording), and Yiddle with a Fiddle. 1998 Barter Theatre Resident Company member, and numerous regional theatre contracts. TV: a featured guest spot on the hit Comedy Central show Strangers with Candy, as well as a number of regional commercials.
Rob Kahn has worked extensively in regional theater and with major companies in Chicago and Los Angeles, as well as the role of Picasso in the national tour of Steve Martin’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Numerous TV/Film credits include CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Numb3rs, and National Lampoon’s Dorm Daze.
Popular Philadelphia actor Geneviève Perrier, who is a Barrymore Award winner for Best Leading Actress in a Play for Lantern Theater Company’s Skylight, and a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Kate Czajkowski, popular Seattle-based actress and teaching artist at the Tony Award®-winning regional Intiman Theater, with roles in Seattle Shakespeare’s Pericles, the world premiere of Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, and Annie Sullivan in a 39-state national tour of The Miracle Worker.
Carl Granieri, award-winning actor and graduate of the Master’s program in Theatre at Villanova University, seen recently in Act II Playhouse’s critically acclaimed production of On Golden Pond, plus Necropolis at the Prague Fringe Festival and regional stage credits with companies such as Amaryllis Theatre, Madhouse Theatre, Philadelphia Dramatists, and Cardboard Box Collaborative.
Steve Kuhel, former New York based actor whose NYC credits include Macbeth, The Country Wife, and The Palooka. In Philadelphia, he has been seen in the world premiere of Terrence McNally’s Unusual Acts of Devotion at Philadelphia Theatre Company, Arms and the Man, Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival, Nagle Jackson’s The White Room, and the Philly Fringe hit Pushkin at Boldino.
David Ingram is an Associate Professor of Theater at Temple University. Recent roles include Arthur in End Days at People’s Light and Theatre Company (where he is a long-time company member), Osip and the Judge in The Government Inspector at the Lantern Theater and Stern in The Rant at Interact. This season, he is slated to appear in The Tempest at Act II Playhouse and Laughter on the 23rd Floor at 1812 Productions.
Michael Friel appeared on Broadway in Terrence McNally’s Master Class, and was last seen at Temple in Damn Yankees. He earned his MFA in Playwriting at Temple and has been teaching at the university since 1999. As a dramatist, he has won two national playwriting competitions and has had works produced locally and regionally. In 1994, he appeared as a winning contestant on Jeopardy.
Stefanée Martin is an undergraduate theatre major with a concentration in acting. Tartuffe will be Stefanée’s first main stage performance at Temple, however, she has performed in several other Temple events including the 2010 MFA One Act Festival (Le Dispute, EGLE), the 2011 MFA Playfest (Go Yeri Ston, MARIAMA), and the Advanced Directing One Act Festival (Spring’s Awakening, WENDLA) among others.
Robert Carlton is an artist from Wayne, PA and entering senior year at Temple. Robert appeared last summer as Rhode in TRT’s production of “Three Sisters”. He last appeared at Temple as Romain Tournell in “A Flea in Her Ear”. In addition to his work at Temple, Robert is a member of the Found theater collective and for the last ten years has been a frequent collaborator of Brooklyn based artist Bryan Zanisnik.
Michael Grant is a rising Junior Theater Major at Temple University. He is so grateful to have had this wonderful opportunity! Michael will also be seen in the Philadelphia Fringe Festival this fall in Found Theater Co’s Event End. For Mom.
