We are glad that you are considering undertaking an internship with the Communication Studies Program. Our internship program has included a number of media centers such as radio and television stations, major businesses, community services, international organizations, and even an affiliate of the United States Department of Defense!
Although the internship program is not required for graduation in the Major, it is highly recommended. Survey after survey of corporate leaders notes the importance of having an internship. Several students look back at their internship as a vital component of their undergraduate experience.
The ability to function within an organization and to obtain hands on experience are some of the most intriguing aspects of internships. Additionally, internship supervisors– several of whom are Temple grads who are pleased to continue their association with their alma mater through this innovative program– find that Temple Communications interns bring a solid education and work ethic into their internship experience.
Students are able to receive up to four credit hours of classwork to count toward their graduation through the Internship Program. The internship manual will explain a great number of policies, standards, and expectations for the Internship Program.
Please feel free to contact the director, Scott Gratson, at 215-204-6434 or sgratson@temple.edu for more information. We are very excited about the possibilities within the Internship Program. We are certain that you’ll agree.
Sincerely,
The Faculty, Staff, and Students of
