TECH Center Multimedia Studio
Purpose:
The Multimedia Studio is a flexible, open studio space intended for multidisciplinary student use. It is open to all students of the university, at varying skill levels. Typical uses for the studio may include, but are not limited to:
Small-scale video production (interviews, video podcasts, etc.)
Group audio recordings
Still photography shoots
Internet videoconferencing (such as master classes)
What’s in the studio:
The studio is an approximately 12×18 foot room with sound-reduction insulation, acoustic glass windows and echo-reducing foam tiles on walls
Four ceiling-mounted video lighting rigs with dimmer switches
Backdrop frame with “green screen,” black and white backdrops
Sony HXR-NX5U NXCAM Professional HD Camcorder and tripod system
Various microphones and accessories, including Audio-Technica AT-875 – Shotgun microphone kit and Shure PG Series Dual Wireless Lavalier Microphone System

Reserving the Multimedia Studio
The Multimedia Studio can be reserved in advance by calling 215-204-9898 or by visiting the Central Consultant Desk on the 2nd floor of the TECH Center.
The studio may be booked up to three hours at a time. During non-peak periods, additional hours (in increments of one hour) may be added with prior permission of the TECH Center Manager on Duty.
The Multimedia Studio is intended for single-use bookings only. It may NOT be scheduled on an ongoing basis throughout the semester or other times. Like all other TECH Center facilities, the Multimedia Studio may not be scheduled for classes or other ongoing events.
When you arrive to use the studio, you must check in at the Consultant Desk prior to use. If you have not used the Multimedia Studio before, you may be asked to receive a brief orientation prior to your first use.
If you have any questions during your use of the Multimedia Studio, please go to the Consultant Desk and ask for the Manager on Duty. TECH Center staff will provide general technical support and troubleshooting on equipment use during your use of the studio. However, for more complex technical questions, you may be asked to schedule a consultation at a future time with a technical specialist. Specialists may be available during limited hours (typically Sunday to Friday from noon to 9 p.m.).
Production
Audio Studios
Students receive hands-on training using sound editing equipment. All the necessary tools are available in seven audio studios.
Film & Video Productions
Equipment Office
Students can reserve and borrow the film and video field gear they need to learn and complete projects.
Film Lab
Production students visit the Film Lab to receive advice and assistance with film and video post production services and to order supplies.
Post Production
Students and faculty can edit audio and video pieces and transfer video to various formats in the Post Production Lab or the TECH Center.
Television Studios
Annenberg Hall includes three fully-equipped studios for educational use, including videography, television direction and broadcast performance.
